A purpose-built resort on the French / Spanish border, Pas de la Casa forms part of Andorra’s biggest ski area. Both Spanish and French flock here for fun and frolics – enjoying respectable skiing along with attractive duty-free prices and lively nights. Increasing numbers of Brits are now following in their footsteps.The lure of cheap and cheerful restaurant seafood and paella, along with budget-priced bars and clubs, proves to be a potent mix for younger skiers and boarders.

As a ski destination, Pas de la Casa has an efficient new lift system and an excellent snow record. It usually boasts good conditions well into April. The resort has also teamed up with neighbouring Soldeu to form a joint ski area covered by one pass and known as the Grand Valira. The 60 lifts serve some 200km of mainly beginner and intermediate terrain encompassing five villages. For beginners, the ski school is well-known for its good standard of spoken English – an important attribute for the many improvers among the British presence. Snowboarders are spoilt with their very own snowpark, handily located on the Tubs piste.

I went to Pas de la Casa as a student, tempted by the great value skiing in Andorra and the lure of the duty free vodka. I was pleasantly suprised by the sunny slopes and the resort centre which is friendly and laid back. Cheap but definitely not tacky. Nicky Robinson, Holidays Editor

Accommodation

You'll stay in the popular Sandy IV apartments, which are located 125m from the ski slopes and 250m from the resort centre. It is a great choice for young people wishing to sample Pas on a budget.

Each apartment has one twin sleeping area (not entirely enclosed), a double sofa bed in the lounge and bunks in the kitchen /entrance area. We recommend a maximum occupancy of 4 adults.

All apartments have bath, shower, and W.C, fridge, kettle, 2-ring hob, microwave and satellite tv. A deposit of €150 in cash on arrival is payable. This is refundable provided the apartments are left in a clean condition with no breakages.

Ticketing information: Holidays are booked from an allocation held by suffolk-cycling-holidays.co.uk with the tour operator, Inghams. You are making a confirmed reservation - bookings are not subject to availability. Inghams will send you their confirmation/ invoice by second class post with receipt of your booking. Tickets will be dispatched 14 days before departure.

Carriage of skis: Ski carriage must be pre-booked and there is a charge of £15 per pair return. If for any reason your skis cannot be carried, Inghams undertake to transport your skis on the next available flight and deliver them to your accommodation.

To book ski carriage enter the number of pairs you will be taking under Optional Extras at the end of your online booking. The charge will be added to your invoice.

Special Requests: If you have any special requests (vegetarian meals etc.) please enter them under Special Requirements when making your online booking. Special requests will be noted but cannot be guaranteed.

There is a 1.5% charge when payment is made by credit (not debit) card.
